U9/U10 Talent ID Session and Development Coaching Programmes
Essex County Cricket offer Eagles Nest Sessions to talented U9 and U10 players. These sessions are led by County performance Coaches and take the form of coached Talent ID session. Those players who are identified as talented players and excel in the Eagles Nest Sessions are invited to take part in the U9/U10 County Wide Festival Days, which take place early in the season. The Festival Days form part of the Performance Player Pathway and selected players are invited onto a County Summer coaching and development programme.
Clubs are encouraged to nominate players involved in their U8 and U9 programmes who showed potential this summer. The U9/U10 programme is initially soft ball cricket, so there is no requirement for previous exposure to hard ball cricket for these age groups. Any players who you feel would benefit from the session, but miss the nomination deadline, are welcome to attend, but please encourage them to email graham.smith@essexcricket.org.uk.
